Students are starting to get the “hang” of the metric system and how it works. The lesson today dealt with mass and the units used to measure mass in the metric system. We finished learning our vocabulary words for “Old Yeller” and completed a worksheet to reinforce the meanings of the words. We completed an exercise on “settings” and the importance of understanding the setting in most stories to better identify with characters. All students passed off their first “sight words” worksheet.

Every student completed and brought their homework to class… great job! We covered lesson 2 which dealt with properties of operations and sequences. Students were assigned mixed practice problems which will be due tomorrow at the beginning of class. Tomorrow the concepts that will be taught/reviewed are missing numbers in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
