Unit 4: Changing Earth’s Surface - For the next four weeks, we will be covering Science Core Standard 2 which is: Students will understand that volcanoes, earthquakes, uplift, weathering, and erosion reshape Earth’s surface.  I will provide a link to the lessons and experiments that I will be teaching during that week.  Lessons may not be exactly as described because I am trying to integrate more reading and writing into the activities than would normally be the case.  For the upcoming week, I will be covering the following concepts:

(11/09 thru 11/13):  The science concepts that will be covered this week are:

• Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
• A Weathering Wonderland!

(11/16 thru 11/20):  The science concepts that will be covered this week are:

• It’s Only a Matter of Time…
• Unstable
• Predicting Problems

(11/26 thru 12/04):  The science concepts that will be covered this week are:

• This is Going to Take Some Time
• Lay It Down

(12/07 thru 12/11):  The science concepts that will be covered this week are:

• Time After Time
• Create A Landform

(12/14 thru 12/18):  Review for Unit 4 test and take test before Christmas break.  Retake on the tests may be taken during the Christmas break.  Parents may not give answers but may prompt and ask questions to help their child better understand the concept.

Unit 5: Traits and Heredity - For the next two weeks, we will be covering Science Core Standard 5 which is: Students will understand that traits are passed from the parent organisms to their offspring, and that sometimes the offspring may possess variations of these traits that may help or hinder survival in a given environment.  I will provide a link to the lessons and experiments that I will be teaching during that week.  Lessons may not be exactly as described because I am trying to integrate more reading and writing into the activities than would normally be the case.  For the upcoming week, I will be covering the following concepts:

(01/11 thru 01/15):  The science concepts that will be covered this week are:
